About The Position

Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking a compassionate and motivated Enrolled Nurse to join their 28-bed Acute General Medical Ward. This is a part-time or full-time, permanent position based at the Springfield campus, which opened in early 2026 as a state-of-the-art facility designed to meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield community. The facility provides a mix of public and private services across ICU, maternity, medical, and surgical care. This role offers an exciting opportunity to build a nursing career in a modern, patient-centered environment, caring for a diverse range of medical patients alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team. The position involves delivering delegated nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and contributing to exceptional patient outcomes, with support for clinical skill development.

Requirements

  • Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering safe, patient-centred care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with patients, families and colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a busy acute care environment.
  • Sound clinical judgement and the ability to work within your scope of practice.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional standards through ongoing learning and development.
  • A proactive approach to quality improvement, patient safety and continuous professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver delegated, evidence-based nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Undertake comprehensive patient assessments within your scope of practice and communicate findings effectively.
  • Implement, evaluate and document nursing interventions to support quality patient outcomes.
  • Assist with patient education, discharge planning and health promotion activities.
  • Advocate for patients by supporting informed decision-making and delivering person-centred care.
  • Maintain high standards of infection prevention, patient safety and clinical quality.
  • Collaborate with medical, nursing and allied health professionals to deliver coordinated care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive, supportive team culture.
  • Support the learning and development of students and less experienced Enrolled Nurses where appropriate.
