About The Position

Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking experienced and passionate Enrolled Nurses trained in Anaesthetics to join our growing Perioperative team in permanent full-time or part-time positions. This is an exciting opportunity to work within our newly expanded hospital environment, supporting high-quality patient care across a broad range of surgical specialties. As an Enrolled Nurse within Anaesthetics, you will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, compassionate, and patient-centred care in a fast-paced perioperative setting. These roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.

Requirements

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Minimum 12 months recent experience working within Anaesthetics as an Enrolled Nurse
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a fast-paced perioperative environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to delivering patient-centred care aligned with Mater’s values and mission
  • Sound clinical judgement, attention to detail, and ability to prioritise workload effectively
  • A proactive approach to learning, professional development, and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Deliver delegated nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse within the Anaesthetics environment
  • Support patients throughout the perioperative journey with a strong focus on safety, dignity, and compassionate care
  • Assist with patient preparation, procedural support, monitoring, and post-procedure activities within scope of practice
  • Collaborate closely with Anaesthetists, Registered Nurses, and the broader multidisciplinary team
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to effective patient communication and education
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold infection control and patient safety standards
  • Support team culture through collaboration, flexibility, and participation in ongoing learning and development
