About The Position

TeamWake is looking for an Enhanced Role Registered Nurse for the Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Clinic! The primary responsibility for this role is to provide clinic services to patients seen in the STD Clinic, to include identification and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases. The Enhanced Role RN will be responsible for obtaining patient's complete sexual history, completing a physical examination to detect sexually transmitted diseases by ordering appropriate laboratory tests, evaluating findings, and treating according to approved medical directives or referring clients to appropriate clinical resources as necessary. This role also involves providing counseling components such as risk reduction education for HIV, testing for HIV, and providing counseling and education regarding STDs and unplanned pregnancy. The Enhanced Role RN will share responsibility with team members for planning, implementing, and evaluating the STD Program. Other responsibilities include maintaining clinic supplies, assisting with CQI for the clinic, and attending trainings to maintain licensure. Occasional evening clinic work may be required.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing
  • No specific experience required
  • Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse as issued by the North Carolina Board of Nursing
  • Enhanced Role Registered Nurse certification required within 18 months of employment
  • Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
  • Equivalent education and experience are NOT accepted
