About The Position

Fr Augustine Tolton Regional Catholic High School in Columbia, MO has an opening for an English Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. A successful candidate is either a practicing Catholic in good standing, or one who will support and uphold the Catholic mission of Fr Augustine Tolton Regional Catholic High School and the Diocese of Jefferson City. Applicants should hold the appropriate Missouri teaching certification, or its equivalent.

Requirements

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in English or related field.
• Understands the high school education culture and is able to interact professionally with students, faculty, and parents.
• Ability to maintain professionalism in challenging situations.

Nice To Haves

• State teaching licensure/certificate is preferred but not a hiring prerequisite.
• Familiarity with Google Suite (Gmail, docs, sheets, etc), Google Classroom, and RenWeb/FACTS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teaches English classes which may include freshman to senior level classes.
• May teach some honors, dual credit, or Advanced Placement classes.
• Utilizes technology to impact student learning and increase communication.
• Demonstrates support for the mission of Fr. Tolton Catholic High School by attitude, words, actions, and integrity.
• Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body, in adherence to the Student Handbook.
• Serves with parents, faculty, and student groups, as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives.
• Possibility to sponsor, coach, or supervise extra-curricular activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.
