About The Position

Brightmont Academy is hiring a part-time English and Social Studies Teacher to provide personalized, one-to-one instruction to students in grades 1–12. Teachers tailor lessons to individual students’ needs and learning styles and use a gradual-release approach to help students achieve mastery, confidence, and academic success. The role is presented as a flexible-schedule opportunity at $22–$23 per hour.

Brightmont Academy states that teachers do not need to plan lessons, hold parent conferences, or complete grading outside of teaching. The company offers professional development opportunities. Brightmont Academy has supported students through one-to-one instruction since 1999 and operates 28 campuses across 11 states.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area, such as English, Social Studies, History, Government, or Economics.
• Patience and empathy, with a commitment to supporting students with different learning needs.
• Genuine passion for teaching and sharing subject-area knowledge.
• Proficiency using G-Suite and learning management software (LMS).
• Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona or Washington, where applicable, and pass a federal background check.

Nice To Haves

• Orton-Gillingham training.
• Teaching certification; stated as nice to have but not required.
• Advanced degree in a specific subject area of expertise.
• Previous one-to-one teaching experience.
