About The Position
Brightmont Academy is hiring a part-time English and Social Studies Teacher to provide personalized one-to-one instruction to students in grades 1–12. Teachers tailor instruction to students’ individual needs and learning styles and guide them toward mastery using a gradual-release approach that builds confidence and academic success. The role emphasizes supporting students in a nurturing, student-centered environment. Lesson planning, parent conferences, and grading are not part of the stated workload, allowing teachers to focus on instruction. The position offers a flexible schedule and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a subject area such as English, Social Studies, History, Government, or Economics.
- Patience and empathy, with a commitment to supporting students with different learning styles.
- Genuine passion for teaching and sharing subject knowledge with the next generation.
- Proficiency using G-Suite and Learning Management Software (LMS).
- Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona or Washington, where applicable, and pass a federal background check.

- Orton-Gillingham training.
- Teaching certification; stated as nice to have but not required.
- Advanced degree in a specific subject area of expertise.
- Previous one-to-one teaching experience.
