About The Position
Brightmont Academy is hiring a part-time English and Social Studies Teacher to provide personalized one-to-one instruction to students in grades 1–12. Teachers tailor lessons to students’ individual needs and learning styles and use a gradual-release approach to help students build confidence and achieve academic mastery. The role offers a flexible schedule and focuses on teaching without lesson planning, parent conferences, or outside grading work. Professional development opportunities are available.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area, such as English, Social Studies, History, Government, or Economics.
- Patience and empathy, with a commitment to supporting students with different learning needs.
- Genuine passion for teaching and sharing subject-area knowledge.
- Proficiency using G-Suite and Learning Management Software (LMS).
- Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona or Washington, where applicable, and pass a federal background check.
Nice To Haves
- Orton-Gillingham training.
- Teaching certification; not required.
- Advanced degree in a specific subject area of expertise.
- Previous one-to-one teaching experience.
