About The Position

Brightmont Academy is hiring a part-time English and Social Studies Teacher to provide personalized, one-to-one instruction to students in grades 1–12. Teachers tailor lessons to each student's needs and learning style and use a gradual-release approach to help students build confidence and achieve academic mastery. The role focuses on teaching and inspiring students without lesson planning, parent conferences, or grading outside the instructional work. The position offers a flexible schedule and professional development opportunities. Compensation is $25–$27 per hour.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area, such as English, Social Studies, History, Government, or Economics.
• Patience and empathy, with a commitment to supporting students with different learning needs.
• Genuine passion for teaching and sharing subject knowledge with students.
• Proficiency using G-Suite and Learning Management Software (LMS).
• Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona or Washington and pass a federal background check.

Nice To Haves

• Orton-Gillingham training.
• Teaching certification; noted as preferred but not required.
• Advanced degree in a subject-area specialty.
• Previous one-to-one teaching experience.
