About The Position

Language Trainers is seeking a freelance English Teacher to provide customized one-to-one business English training to a client in Newport Beach, United States. The student is an adult at an elementary English level and wants to build a strong foundation in standard American English pronunciation and communication, with initial emphasis on pronunciation, listening, and speaking. Grammar, reading, writing, conversation, and professional and business English are goals for later stages.

The course comprises 24 total hours, with two-hour sessions scheduled three times per week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The session time is flexible, and the location is in Newport Coast (92657). The preferred start date is as soon as possible. Schedule and location may be flexible based on availability. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

• Be a native English speaker and/or hold a relevant teaching qualification.
• Have experience as a language teacher, translator, or interpreter.
• Have a valid work permit or visa.
• Live within 20 miles of the specified location.
• Be able to provide a CV and availability when applying; include references if available and the earliest possible start date.
• Applicants must meet the stated conditions; the company is unable to sponsor visas.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one business English instruction to an adult learner at an elementary level.
• Focus initially on correct pronunciation, standard American English accent development, listening, and speaking.
• Gradually support the student's development in grammar, reading, writing, conversation, and professional and business English.
• Teach three two-hour sessions per week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with flexible session times.
