St. Joseph the Worker School, part of the Diocese of Allentown, is seeking an English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the School Principal. The ELA Teacher will be responsible for instructing middle school students in ELA, creating lesson plans, assigning and grading homework, managing the classroom, communicating with families, and preparing students for standardized tests. The role requires demonstrating knowledge of the curriculum, educational research, and technological tools to cater to diverse learning styles and achieve measurable outcomes. The teacher will also ensure a safe and orderly learning environment, uphold school discipline procedures, and supervise students in various school settings. Maintaining fair and accurate grading and attendance policies, promptly grading assignments, and communicating regularly with students and parents are key responsibilities. The position also involves preparing progress reports and report cards, maintaining confidentiality, adhering to school and diocesan policies, and engaging in professional growth. Collaboration with other staff, attendance at in-service training and faculty meetings, and performing other assigned duties are also expected.
