About The Position

Help students turn ideas into impact while inspiring stronger readers, writers, and thinkers! Cross Country Education is seeking an English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher who can bring literature, writing, and discussion to life while creating a supportive environment where students are encouraged to think critically, express themselves, and engage with new ideas throughout the school year in the Bronx, NY. Position Overview Deliver engaging 8th-grade English Language Arts instruction aligned with curriculum and student learning needs. Create a proactive, structured, and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and academic growth. Assess student learning, monitor academic progress, and provide instructional support to help students meet learning goals. Collaborate with colleagues and contribute actively to the school community and instructional team.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required
Non-certified candidates must have at least 12 college credits in the relevant subject area and provide transcripts demonstrating subject-matter expertise.
1–2 years of experience teaching ELA to middle or high school students

Nice To Haves

Valid New York State Teaching Certification
experience in urban teaching environments is preferred
