About The Position
The English as a Second Language Teacher (K-12) at Cleveland High School is responsible for supporting students and leading them toward the fulfillment of their potential for academic growth. This role involves communicating with parents/guardians of ESL students, planning appropriate instruction to support grade-level standards, administering diagnostic tests, and evaluating student progress. The teacher will maintain records of all ESL students, communicate with other teachers and parents to support academic development, and assist with translation and interpretation services when needed. The position also includes performing other assigned work duties.
Requirements
- Valid Tennessee teacher’s license with appropriate endorsement
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Meets health and physical requirements
- Ability to work cooperatively, effectively, and respectfully with staff, parents, and students from diverse backgrounds
