About The Position
The Cleveland High School CTE Health Science Teacher will instruct students in subject matter, using various teaching methods and technology to enhance presentations. This role involves preparing lesson plans aligned with state standards, administering tests, and providing feedback to students and parents. The teacher will maintain classroom discipline, keep accurate attendance records, and participate in professional development activities. Additionally, the teacher will foster a positive learning environment, uphold school policies, and represent the school and community positively.
Requirements
- Valid Tennessee teacher’s license with appropriate endorsement
- Strong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Meets health and physical requirements
Responsibilities
- Instructs students in subject matter, using various teaching methods, and uses technology and other materials to enhance presentation
- Prepares teaching outline for course of study in conjunction with current state standards, and appropriate feedback for homework assignments
- Administers tests to evaluate progress, records results, and issues reports to inform parents of students’ progress
- Keeps accurate attendance records
- Maintains discipline in classroom and during extended learning opportunities
- Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops
- Encourages students to maintain standards of classroom behavior
- Prepares for class and shows evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor
- Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day
- Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, board policies and administrative regulations
- Develops and maintains a classroom conducive to learning
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated
- Represents the school and the community in a positive manner
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned by administration
