About The Position

Gas Power Engineering is seeking a strategic, analytically driven leader to oversee headcount planning, demand and capacity modeling, and workforce operations across the organization. The role helps position the engineering team to meet business priorities, delivery commitments, and cost targets through workforce forecasting and resource planning. The position regularly interacts with senior engineering leadership and partners across HR, Finance, and FP&A. The leader establishes operating rhythms, improves workforce planning processes, and drives consistency in data and reporting. Success requires strategic thinking, operational discipline, analytical capability, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to influence across organizational levels.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or another STEM-related field.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in operations, workforce planning, resource planning, analytics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Lead headcount planning and own workforce targets aligned with budgets, business priorities, and operational needs.
Drive demand and capacity modeling to support workforce allocation, resource sharing, and hiring decisions across engineering.
Partner with HR, Finance, FP&A, and engineering leaders to establish an effective operating cadence for workforce planning and decision-making.
Develop and implement standardized processes for headcount reviews, approvals, and ongoing governance.
Own workforce dashboards and reporting, providing timely insights and trend analysis to support strategic decisions.
Analyze workforce data to identify opportunities, risks, and actionable recommendations for leadership.
Support quarterly reviews, annual operating planning, budget development, and long-range forecasting.
Drive data consistency and help establish a single source of truth for workforce planning across teams and functions.
Prepare audience-appropriate presentations and communications that translate workforce data into business insights and recommendations.
Lead communication about headcount changes, planning assumptions, and workforce strategies across the organization.
Identify and implement simplification, automation, and continuous-improvement opportunities to increase productivity and planning effectiveness.
Partner with operations and functional leaders to optimize workforce allocation and support a high-performing engineering organization.
