Eaton’s Early Career Internship Program: Engineering Technology - Mechanical Design is a paid, 12-week internship for students interested in innovation and mechanical design. Interns contribute to meaningful projects and receive guidance and mentorship from Eaton leaders. The role exposes participants to creative design and development of Eaton products, supporting a business unit or product line within Electrical, Mobility, or Aerospace. Interns gain exposure to mechanical design from project initiation through manufacturing launch and collaborate with engineering leaders and cross-functional project teams, including Marketing, Sales, and Operations. Potential assignments include design and simulation, product testing and design validation, participation in new-product launch cycles, prototype development and testing, Voice of the Customer product and marketing research, and cost-saving initiatives for existing product lines. The internship includes networking and learning opportunities, and concludes with a formal presentation to organizational leaders. After completing the program, interns may be considered for Eaton’s Engineering and Technology Development Programs upon graduation. The position requires geographic flexibility to relocate within the United States for the internship, potentially to an Eaton facility such as Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Asheville, North Carolina; or Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The role may involve up to 25% travel within a local region. Interns are responsible for transportation to and from the worksite and for incidental business travel; approved required business travel other than travel to the worksite is reimbursed. Eaton does not provide employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
