About The Position

The Engineering Technology Instructor position in Business, Industry, & CIS is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in engineering and technology-related disciplines. The role supports student learning through multiple instructional modalities and contributes to program effectiveness across assigned campuses. Faculty are expected to maintain academic standards while adapting to evolving instructional needs. SJR State is a public college located in beautiful northeast Florida along the shores of the St. Johns River. With three campuses in Clay, Putnam, and St. Johns counties, SJR State serves nearly 10,000 students each year from among a population base of 600,000 in one of the fastest-growing areas of the country. Known for its natural beauty and quality of life, SJR State’s service area includes St. Augustine, the nation’s oldest city; Palatka, the “Gem City of the St. Johns;” and Orange Park, with roots going back to the Spanish period in Florida history.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a related field such as Engineering, Computer-Integrated Manufacturing, Electronics Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or Networking Services; OR Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in a combination of qualifying fields
  • Ability to teach using multiple instructional modalities
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to diverse learning environments
  • Ability to travel between campuses as assigned
  • Successful completion of background check, employment/reference verification, and drug screening
  • Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing, or information technology disciplines
  • Strong communication and instructional skills
  • Organizational and time management skills

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in engineering and technology-related disciplines across associate and baccalaureate programs
  • Deliver instruction in multiple modalities, including in-person, asynchronous online, and synchronous online formats
  • Conduct in-person laboratory instruction at the Orange Park Campus
  • Support student learning outcomes and maintain academic standards within the department
  • Adapt instructional methods to meet diverse student and program needs
  • Teach courses at multiple campuses as assigned
  • Comply with institutional policies, procedures, and scheduling requirements
