About The Position

Sabre is currently recruiting for an Engineering Technician to work in Lexington Park, MD at NAVAIR. NAVAIR's mission is to provide full life-cycle support of naval aviation aircraft operational systems and subsystems. This support includes the existing performance monitoring and deficiency investigation, periodic upgrades to existing systems capabilities, lab build up and maintenance. NAVAIR is organized into eight "competencies" or communities of practice including: program management, contracts, research and engineering, test and evaluation, logistics and industrial operations, corporate operations, comptroller and counsel. NAVAIR provides support (through people, processes, tools, training, mission facilities, and core technologies) to Naval Aviation Program Executive Officers (PEOs) and their assigned program managers, who are responsible for meeting the cost, schedule, and performance requirements of their assigned programs.

Requirements

  • Active Security Clearance
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience performing as an Engineering Technician
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense
  • Candidate must have Security+ certification

Responsibilities

  • Independently applies complex engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, develop, implement, test and evaluate systems on current or proposed military system components and assemblies
  • This experience includes developing and testing solutions to solve technical problems in research and development, manufacturing, inspection, and maintenance, and assisting engineers in inspecting products, conducting tests, and collecting data
  • Provides for the maintenance, repair, inspection, and troubleshooting of system equipment or components
  • Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation
  • Directly performs engineering functions such as system integration, integration testing, and system operation
  • Basic cabling/wiring knowledge (ability to install and run cables within a lab environment)
  • Basic understanding of power distribution network (for lab setup and troubleshooting)
  • Experience with basic troubleshooting and troubleshooting steps
  • General Lab (cabling, power, test equipment) and/or networking equipment (Switches, Routers, Media Converters) experience
