This role involves removing, installing, repairing, and testing all electromechanical equipment of rides, animation, attractions, and buildings. The technician will perform other maintenance functions within the theme park and assist other maintenance personnel as needed. Responsibilities include troubleshooting complex American and foreign-made equipment, with general electrical and PLC experience including VFDs being preferred. The position requires keeping safety as the top priority, following established maintenance programs, and ensuring all ride equipment and work areas are kept clean, neat, and orderly. The technician must ensure the security and safety of all rides by inspecting and preventing safety hazards, and maintain internal compliance with maintenance, safety, and security procedures by following established ASTM, NEC, state, and local electrical codes, and loss prevention guidelines. The role also involves operating simple machine tools, recognizing equipment needing repair, and keeping tools and machines in good working order. Staying informed on modern techniques and methods through supplemental courses, seminars, and conventions is expected. A liaison with fellow maintenance employees and other departments is necessary, along with following LEGOLAND Florida policies and procedures. The technician will respond to emergency calls, expediting repairs to ensure guest and fellow Model Citizen safety and comfort, and maintain Rides and Attractions in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health standards. The ability to react calmly and rationally under pressure or in an emergency is crucial, as is a friendly, polite, customer service-oriented demeanor. This role also includes mentoring and training current Ride Engineer I Model Citizens on an ongoing basis.
