About The Position

The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. Technician will support Ground Systems Processing of the Artemis Launch Vehicle at Kennedy Space Center. This support will include ground system operations, testing and validations of flight and ground systems. Working in a team environment, candidate will work to detailed instructions and schematics to perform work in all aspects of ground systems. Technician will be participating in training requirements to obtain all necessary certifications to perform assembly work.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and technical training in the applicable area of expertise and three years related experience.
  • Must have valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and follow detailed instructions.
  • Ability to work multiple shifts and overtime as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (if required).

Nice To Haves

  • Two-year technical or professional degree/training, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Experience with mechanical systems, electrical AC/DC power systems, radar antennas/RF systems, weather instrumentation, and data gathering equipment.
  • Knowledge of general safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, RF and radiation protection.
  • Instrumentation installation, calibration, and troubleshooting experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with software tools such as SOLUMINA, MAXIMO, and related maintenance/operations platforms.
