About The Position

As a Manufacturing Engineering Technician, you will provide hands-on support for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes across mechanical and electrical assemblies. You will work closely with Manufacturing Engineers, Design Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and high-quality builds. This role spans machining, assembly, automation, and wire harness manufacturing, supporting both new product introduction and full-rate production.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience supporting manufacturing, assembly, machining, or wire harness production environments
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical and/or electrical production issues
  • Familiarity with interpreting work instructions, technical drawings, and build documentation
  • Experience performing inspections, in-process verification, or production testing
  • Understanding of crimping, connector assembly, harness routing, or precision mechanical assembly
  • Ability to support implementation of engineering changes and validate new revisions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to escalate complex technical issues appropriately
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Design, Quality, and Production teams
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality production standards

Responsibilities

  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers in developing and refining manufacturing processes for robotic mobility, control components, and wire harness assemblies
  • Set up and support machining, assembly, harness build, and test operations according to released process documentation
  • Provide daily hands-on production floor support, troubleshooting issues such as tool wear, misalignment, surface finish concerns, assembly variability, connector seating, pin damage, shielding, grounding, and crimp quality
  • Perform continuity, isolation, hipot, and functional testing of harness assemblies and support validation of high-current and sensitive signal circuits
  • Maintain and validate fixtures, harness boards, automated cells, robotic equipment, and test stations
  • Support implementation of engineering change orders (ECOs) and validate revisions through first article inspections and pilot builds
  • Collect and analyze production and test data to support SPC, yield tracking, scrap reduction, and quality monitoring initiatives
  • Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Assist in prototype builds, pilot runs, and production ramp activities, documenting lessons learned
  • Identify opportunities to improve cycle time, workflow efficiency, material flow, and overall manufacturing safety
  • Serve as a technical resource for operators, harness assemblers, and production technicians
