About The Position

As a Engineering Technician – Level 2 - Level 3 located in Magna, UT, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. We are excited for you to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. This position will work a 4/10 schedule, with the possibility to work overtime as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience (for Level 2).
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience (for Level 3).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
  • Previous experience gathering, maintaining and compiling technical data.
  • Able to read engineering documentation and reports including drawings and schematics.
  • Capability to understand and follow electronic work instruction documents.
  • Ability to read, clearly interpret and accurately follow standard work and other written instructions.
  • Capable of the use of calibrated measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and electrical meters.
  • Proficient with manual and power tools.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in using X-ray equipment and photography.
  • Ability to receive and follow specific instructions from procedures, prints, planning and supervision.
  • Good communication skills with ability to understand and communicate technical information with clarity.
  • Ability to read, interpret and implement technical drawings, specifications, and procedures.
  • Computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications.
  • Experience with CAD or other Drafting software.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Successful candidate must be able to pass a background check for the Federal Safe Explosives Act (SEA).
  • Must be able to qualify for an Alcohol Tobacco and Firearm (ATF) “Explosives Possessor” designation.

Responsibilities

  • Review and implement test plans, drawings, specifications, and planning in support of various development projects and production.
  • Sample fabrication and installation, operation of specialized operating equipment and tooling, handling operations, and safe use of various chemicals and bonding compounds.
  • Ordering supplies as needed from vendors or other sources.
  • Implementation of continuous improvement using 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Use of standard computer skills including Microsoft Office, CAD and other software programs.
  • Use of hand tools, lathes, drills, saws, and other tools.
  • Provide excellent customer service and organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.
