Engineering Technician
About The Position
Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative is seeking an Engineering Technician for its central office in Centerville, Tennessee. The position is responsible for staking and designing new distribution lines and plant modifications, preparing formal work orders using the cooperative’s mapping system, and working with property owners to obtain easements. The Engineering Technician also assists with emergency outage restoration efforts. MLEC offers a community service-oriented environment, competitive wages, and an excellent benefits package. Pre-employment and random drug testing and background investigations are required.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience in electric distribution line design, or three years of experience in electric distribution operations and public relations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to complete pre-employment and random drug testing and background investigations.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in surveying, drafting, design concepts, and computer applications, including spreadsheets, database administration, and word processing.
- Associate’s degree in a technology-related field.
Responsibilities
