About The Position

HII is seeking an Engineering Technician to support its Maintenance Planning Team and Navy customer, the Submarine Maintenance Engineering Planning and Procurement Activity (SUBMEPP). The role involves working with submarine material condition data that informs future maintenance decisions and supports the safety and reliability of the U.S. submarine fleet. The position is full-time and on-site in a waterfront office environment.

Requirements

Associate’s degree or other two-year technical degree in a related discipline and three years of experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent and five years of related DoD/USN experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.
Ability to support a full-time, on-site position.

Nice To Haves

Ability to work with data, including basic Excel functions.
Experience in submarine, naval, or industrial maintenance.
Degree in a relevant field such as Business, Engineering, Logistics, or IT.
Active security clearance.

Responsibilities

Maintain and organize submarine material condition data in SUBMEPP’s M&SWP IMAP database.
Review source documents, including TGIs, CASREPs, DRs, and UT reports, and prepare clear, accurate abstracts covering component and repair details, engineering analysis notes, maintenance deferrals, material condition assessments, and part and equipment failure data.
Support IMAP maintenance tasks, including processing images, entering records, and ensuring data accuracy.
Upload and manage feedback images in the IMAP Scanned Image Library.
Perform quality checks and corrections in the IMAP database.
Support data collection and create IMAP records as new information becomes available.
Collaborate with SUBMEPP to improve SharePoint image upload and management processes.
Troubleshoot and improve UT record entry and related workflows.
