Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is seeking an Engineering Technician 2/Engineering Technician 3 to join our team. This position will be supporting the Propulsion Systems Division at our facility located in Promontory, UT. We are excited for you to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and 2 years of relevant experience OR associate’s degree/certificate in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and 0 years of relevant experience (for level 2).
  • High school diploma or GED and 4 years of relevant experience OR associate’s degree/certificate in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and 2 years of relevant experience (for level 3).
  • Previous experience gathering, maintaining and compiling technical data.
  • Able to read engineering documentation and reports including drawings and schematics.
  • Capability to understand and follow electronic work instruction documents.
  • Ability to read, clearly interpret and accurately follow standard work and other written instructions.
  • Capable of the use of calibrated measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and electrical meters.
  • Proficient with manual and power tools.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Successful candidate must be able to pass a background check for the Federal Safe Explosives Act (SEA).

Nice To Haves

  • Strong electronics background and a fundamental knowledge of test systems including data systems, control systems, and other electronic equipment.
  • Computer networking experience (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).
  • Experience with Windows operation systems administration and deployment.
  • PC hardware knowledge, A+ certification preferred.
  • Experience in thru-hole and surface mount soldering as well as data cable fabrication.
  • Experience in set-up, fabrication, and troubleshooting of computer-controlled equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and maintain electronic systems including repair and setup of video, audio, process controllers, test equipment, and data acquisition systems.
  • Review drawings, specifications and follow planning in support of various development projects.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics as well as use a variety of electronic troubleshooting equipment.
  • Work closely with systems engineers to fabricate and checkout test systems.
  • Good interpersonal skills with other technicians and engineers.
  • Willing to work overtime on occasion to meet testing requirements.
  • Demonstrate a strong attitude towards safety.
