We are currently seeking a Engineering Technician V to support our Dahlgren, VA customer. Candidate will provide configuration management (CM), logistics, mechanical and electrical engineering technician services, field service support, project management, drafting and design, technical writing, and acquisition services to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), Unmanned & Expeditionary Weapon Systems (H40) Division and Intelligent Automation (H60) Division.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or passing score on the General Education Development (GED) exam AND Seven (7) years of full-time professional experience working as an Engineering Technician
  • Five (5) years full-time hands-on experience in installation, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or testing of any major military system.
  • Experience in developing and testing solutions to solve technical problems in research and development, manufacturing, inspection, and maintenance; while assisting engineers in inspecting products, conducting tests, and collecting data.
  • Experience with following published user manuals and maintenance documentation.
  • Experience reading, editing, and creating electrical drawings and system schematics.
  • Must hold and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree plus two (3) years additional work experience performing duties described in the functional description of the labor category may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Four (6) years additional work experience performing duties described in the functional description of the labor category may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.

Responsibilities

  • Develops new test procedures and measurement techniques
  • Conducts tests and experiments to prove/disprove feasibility of design
  • Gathering and maintaining specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc.; performing computations by substituting numbers in specified formulas; plotting data and draws simple curves and graphs.
  • Responding to and tracking issued work tickets
  • Supporting facility, assets, and equipment to maintain, repair, modify, replace, and upgrade
  • May provide work leadership for lower level employees Designs and constructs major units and equipment.
