About The Position

Apply comprehensive technical knowledge to solve electronic equipment problems. This role requires a strong understanding of the interrelationships of circuits and the judgment to determine work sequences and select appropriate tools and testing instruments. The technician will execute principles of electricity and electronics as they apply to shop practices and techniques involving electrical and electronic circuitry. Responsibilities include interpreting and working from blueprints, drawings, manuals, handbooks, and technical specifications, with sufficient knowledge and skills to install, repair, test, and checkout electronic equipment and systems using appropriate test equipment. Ensuring work performed is in specific compliance with accepted practices and work assignments is crucial. The role involves close collaboration with a supervisor or a higher-level technician for clarity. Common installation tasks include soldering, cable dressing, working with cable trays and conduit, and repairing/making connectors.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship and Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Certifications: Soldering certification, such as, IPC7711.
  • Advanced Electronics Training, Civilian or military.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as an electronics technician with a working knowledge and repair experience of advanced electronic systems and equipment.
  • Experience in Electronics Metrology required with emphasis on maintenance and alignment of sophisticated DoD time and frequency equipment such as Cesium Beam Frequency Standards and other timing standards.
  • Experience and ability to make measurements using sophisticated test and measuring equipment such as Allan Deviation Timing Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Electronic Counters and other test equipment used in Time and Frequency Metrology.
  • Hands on experience independently troubleshooting complex analog and digital circuits.
  • Has the ability to design and fabricate as required.
