The Engineering Technician II performs standardized mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical maintenance assignments supporting heavyweight and lightweight torpedo operations. The position follows approved work instructions, procedures, shop documentation, and established work methods to disassemble, clean, inspect, assemble, adjust, test, troubleshoot, and repair torpedo components and associated support equipment. Recurring assignments are performed with limited supervision, while unfamiliar or non-routine tasks require explicit instructions and may be reviewed while in progress. Work is documented using paper and electronic process-control systems, including the Automated Process Control System, Heavyweight Torpedo Technical Data System, and Shop Workload Management System. The position may also support component preparation for storage, ranging, fleet issue, material movement, repair-parts requests, and Progressive Depot Level Repair activities when trained and qualified.
