About The Position

The Engineering Technician - Electrical works with engineers to create electrical solutions and perform testing on Vermeer machines. The role involves producing, testing, and operating prototype machinery and electrical components, and requires a willingness to learn new skills and operate heavy equipment.

The position is onsite at a Vermeer campus and includes occasional travel. The first shift is specified.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of previous mechanical, agricultural, or technician experience and/or job training.
• Fundamental knowledge to safely operate tools and complete assigned processes.
• Fundamental knowledge in diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Fundamental knowledge of testing procedures for functions and operation-level limits.

Nice To Haves

• Technical school or skilled trade program in auto technology, diesel technology, industrial systems technology, agricultural systems technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Create prototype and/or new parts and electrical harnesses for existing machine components.
• Perform tests on various machines.
• Assist with machines through production implementation.
• Organize and inspect parts for engineering.
• Document and record test reports, project challenges, and changes to machine components.
