Engineering Technician 3

Lam Research•Tualatin, OR

About The Position

This position combines sample preparation and laboratory assistant duties, involving laboratory work, material logistics, and transport. The technician prepares samples before they are loaded into STEM tools. Tasks may include applying ALD or other protective coatings, identifying and marking areas of interest from a schematic, and resizing samples with silicon cleaving tools. The role also handles sample intake and outgoing procedures, including physical and digital quality screening and photographing contents, and sets aside samples that do not meet the lab’s submission expectations. The technician ships samples to domestic and international locations, follows fixed procedures across a wide variety of sample configurations, and provides customer service. Especially successful, tenured technicians may pursue a career in electron microscopy within the group. Lam offers work-location models based on role needs. Its hybrid models combine on-site collaboration with remote flexibility and include On-site Flex (3 or more days per week on-site) and Virtual Flex (1–2 days per week on-site).
