About The Position

Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis. Incumbent will be responsible for developing test procedures to meet contractual requirements, assist senior technicians in performing system troubleshooting and testing, analyses data, and prepares official documents for submittal to external customer and Supervisor of Shipbuilding. Candidate must have technical experience and technical knowledge of Radio, Voice and Announcing Systems including TVS, DMR LOS, DMR SATCOM, Sound Powered Telephones, 3IV, 1MC, 2MC, 3MC, 5MC and 6MC. Candidate should be familiar with Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) electronics. Position requires good computer skills using Word and Excel and good verbal communication skills.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 1 years of relevant experience
  • Technical experience and technical knowledge of Radio, Voice and Announcing Systems including TVS, DMR LOS, DMR SATCOM, Sound Powered Telephones, 3IV, 1MC, 2MC, 3MC, 5MC and 6MC
  • Familiarity with Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) electronics
  • Good computer skills using Word and Excel
  • Good verbal communication skills

  • Significant experience troubleshooting and testing Radio, Voice and Announcing Systems including TVS, DMR LOS, DMR SATCOM, Sound Powered Telephones, 3IV, 1MC, 2MC, 3MC, 5MC and 6MC
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel
  • Does not have a fear of heights, be able to ascend/descend vertical ladders that span several decks, both topside and within the ship
  • Able to obtain and maintain a Secret Level Security Clearance
  • Able to go to Sea during Test Trials
  • Able to work multiple shifts
