About The Position

The Engineering Tech V will conduct tests and resolve problems with machinery and equipment. Establishes service by studying system requirements, ordering and gathering components and parts, completing installation, performing acceptance test. Keeps equipment operational by following operational instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and performing preventative maintenance. Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records in the Government Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) database (Maximo). Pay Rate: $56.23 / hour

Requirements

  • US citizenship.
  • A Journeyman’s license in HVAC, Electrical or at least 7 years of experience or an equivalent combination of skills, education and experience as a qualified Systems Technician.
  • Adequate technical knowledge and aptitude in the performance of system maintenance and repair to perform high level troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of the Electrical Code and the National Fire Protection Code.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of standard contracting regulations, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations, and/or technical orders.
  • Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures to a variety of situations and to recommend timely and economical solutions.
  • Ability to adequately utilize Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word to perform job duties.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Possess a valid and acceptable driver’s license/record.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Maximo CMMS or equivalent experience.
  • Possess the required security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Keep equipment operational by following operational instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and performing preventative maintenance.
  • Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records in the Government Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) database (Maximo).
  • Analyze systems, major units, devices, or equipment; conduct tests or experiments; analyze results, repair, or recommend corrective action to Project Manager.
  • Review guidelines, specifications, and developed designs. Analyze technical data to determine applicability to design problems; thereafter recommend systems improvements.
  • Develop Systems tests to evaluate equipment performance. Determine test requirements, equipment modification, and test procedures; conduct tests using all types of instruments; analyze and evaluate test results, and prepare reports on findings and recommendations.
