About The Position

The selected Engineering Systems Administrator II will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, optimization, and support of the organization's backend infrastructure platforms, including enterprise storage systems, virtualization environments, server operating systems, backup solutions, and supporting datacenter technologies. This role ensures the availability, performance, scalability, and security of critical infrastructure while supporting business operations and strategic technology initiatives. You will serve as a technical contributor responsible for troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues, implementing system enhancements, maintaining disaster recovery capabilities, and supporting the lifecycle management of enterprise infrastructure. The position collaborates closely with engineering, security, networking, and application teams to deliver reliable and secure technology solutions.

Requirements

Strong understanding of enterprise storage architectures and technologies.
Strong understanding of virtualization platforms and server administration.
Working knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity principles.
Understanding of infrastructure security, patch management, and system hardening practices.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong documentation and process development skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

VMware VCP, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Windows Server, or comparable infrastructure certifications.
Experience with cloud infrastructure services and hybrid environments.
Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting.
Knowledge of storage networking technologies including Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and NFS.

Responsibilities

Administer and maintain enterprise server, virtualization, and storage environments.
Monitor infrastructure health, capacity, performance, and availability to ensure optimal operation.
Provision, configure, and manage physical and virtual server resources.
Perform infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh activities.
Support datacenter infrastructure including compute, storage, and backup systems.
Administer enterprise virtualization platforms including VMware, Proxmox, or equivalent technologies.
Manage virtual machine provisioning, lifecycle management, resource allocation, clustering, and high availability configurations.
Monitor virtualization platform performance and implement optimization strategies.
Support virtualization upgrades, patching, and platform maintenance activities.
Manage enterprise storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and object storage platforms.
Perform storage provisioning, capacity planning, performance tuning, replication management, and availability monitoring.
Support storage expansion projects, hardware refreshes, and storage migrations.
Troubleshoot storage connectivity, performance, and replication issues.
Administer enterprise backup and recovery solutions.
Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.
Perform backup validation and restore testing to ensure recoverability of critical systems and data.
Participate in disaster recovery exercises and infrastructure resiliency initiatives.
Apply security best practices to servers, virtualization platforms, and storage systems.
Evaluate, test, and implement operating system, firmware, hypervisor, and infrastructure security patches.
Perform system hardening activities in accordance with organizational security standards.
Support security audits, vulnerability remediation, and compliance initiatives.
