Supports and supervises engineering processes, procedures, and staff across multiple disciplines. Supervises all aspects of engineering projects, often taking on projects of significant importance to the organization. Performs administrative work concerned with project design, including extensively researching a project's subject area, defining the appropriate scope of a project, and planning the logistics of a given project. Acts as technical liaison to staff and clients. May require registration as a licensed PE. Leads and directs the work of other employees, overseeing the planning, preparation, and implementation of engineering projects. Uses performance metrics to monitor the progress of various types of engineering projects, administering project adjustments when necessary. Ensures that engineering projects meet proper safety standards and company regulations. May be responsible for maintaining inventory supply, budget planning, and preparing cost estimates.
