About The Position

This position will be responsible for performing engineering oversight for all technical tasks that optimize processing capabilities of the facility through robust process development and verification. The Engineering Supervisor will assist the Engineering Manager in providing leadership and guidance for Manufacturing Engineers who are assigned to this program.

Requirements

Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related field
5+ years of experience in aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing
Knowledge of regulatory standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.

Ability of self-directed management of multiple tasks in a high-tempo manufacturing environment, with ability to still hit desired deadlines.
Must possess excellent skills in blueprint reading and specification interpretation.
Ability to travel 5-10% when required.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day engineering support for production operations, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient workflow.
Responsible for implementing all engineering changes from the customer in a timely manner.
Responsible for ensuring that the engineering personnel are properly trained and they continue to stay up to date with the latest techniques for manufacturing.
Directly supervises and guides employees within the Engineering Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Delegate and supervise the research and development of manufactured product line. Included in this is overall responsibility that completed processes will be delivered on time, and with a guaranteed quality level.
Ensure that the site has proper engineering coverage to respond and answer any question they might have and offer suggestions to help in continuous improvement in the shop.
Schedule the engineering staff in such a way to provide maximum efficiency.
Track the progress of each engineering discipline ensuring a maximum effectiveness.
Own specific part numbers as necessary to ensure proper coverage and distribution of work within the Engineering group.
Approve all manufacturing processes, operation models and operation sheets generated by the product manufacturing engineer.
Attend meetings as necessary, both internally and externally.
Ensure shop floor presence during routine SCRUM or GEMBA walks when advised
Manage product and process engineering related activities and coordinate with Operations during the NPI development stage from raw material to finished product.
Create material process requisitions with technical data requirements for sub-tier, special manufacturing processes.
Interface with procurement to assist with sub-tier technical issues that may delay deliveries to HAU or stall overall development.
Define and participate in Root Cause Analysis and implementation of Corrective Actions and follow through to ensure corrective actions have been properly implemented.
Initiate and lead optimization projects to improve quality outcomes, reduce production costs, and shorten cycle time.
Build trust and confidence with customers to resolve engineering, manufacturing, and quality issues.
Perform other related duties or responsibilities as requested or required.
