About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Software & Infrastructure Administrator to support Intuitive Machines-West critical engineering software suite and computing infrastructure. This role can be based remotely in US. This role equally balances hands-on software administration with infrastructure management across hybrid on-premises and AWS GovCloud environments. The ideal candidate will work as part of the Design and Manufacturing Software Engineering team while independently managing day-to-day operations of engineering tools and systems.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering software administration and/or infrastructure management
  • Hands-on experience with CAE/CAD/CAM software administration (Creo, Matlab, Hexagon, Thermal Desktop, or similar platforms)
  • Experience managing HPC clusters and high-performance computing environments
  • Experience with Linux and Windows server administration
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS (GovCloud experience highly valued)
  • Experience with software license management (FLEXlm or similar)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills for working with engineering stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with thermal/structural analysis software packages
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform)
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience in aerospace or defense industry
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize competing demands

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support engineering software applications including Creo, Matlab, Hexagon, and Thermal Desktop
  • Manage software licensing, installations, updates, and patches
  • Provide tier 2/3 technical support to engineering users
  • Troubleshoot application performance issues and user access problems
  • Coordinate with software vendors for technical issues and renewals
  • Manage and maintain HPC clusters for compute-intensive engineering workloads
  • Administer Windows and Linux server environments
  • Support hybrid infrastructure spanning on-premises data centers and AWS GovCloud
  • Implement monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery procedures
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and GovCloud requirements
  • Optimize system performance and resource utilization
  • Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades and migrations
