About The Position

Ellsworth Adhesives is seeking an Engineering Sales Representative to drive the sales process with existing and prospective customers within an assigned territory. This role involves collaborating with customer engineering teams to specify, qualify, and develop manufacturing processes for specialty chemical solutions. The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit, enjoys technical sales, is passionate about analytics and pricing strategies, and is looking for career growth within a continuously growing, family-run company that has been an industry leader for over 50 years.

Requirements

  • Candidates must live within the sales territory (Oregon, Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho- Portland, OR and Spokane, WA area ideal).
  • 3+ years of industrial business-to-business sales experience, experience in the specialty chemical market preferred
  • Bachelor of Science degree required, within a technical or business-related field preferred
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Must have reliable access to a personal vehicle for daily use throughout assigned territory
  • Must maintain current automobile insurance that meets Ellsworth policy requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications
  • Holds integrity paramount to all, followed closely by customer service, quality, collaboration, teamwork, drive, compliance, hard work, discipline, accountability and continuous improvement
  • Expert communication skills, including up, down, across, within and outside the organization
  • Ability to build strong internal relationships inside the company, together with cultivating an external network outside the company

  • Uses influence to stretch the thinking within the business, in pursuit of Ellsworth’s sales growth initiatives and strategies
  • Frequent daily travel within the assigned territory. Some overnight travel as required for training and business meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Determines and presents the customer with potential engineered solutions for customer applications, and coordinates application testing with the customer
  • Establishes professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate customer personnel (purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, management, and other key personnel)
  • Partners with key stakeholders from internal departments, customers and vendors to ensure that the customers’ needs are being addressed
  • Participates in periodic meetings to maintain technical knowledge of specialty chemical solutions and effectively utilizes technology to efficiently manage their territory
  • Identifies and pursues new business opportunities to achieve sales targets and grow sales in assigned territory
