About The Position

Plans and directs all aspects of engineering activities and projects, ensuring that projects, initiatives, and processes conform to Sundt's established policies and objectives. Uses best-practice engineering methods and provides expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives. The role develops strategies and objectives for the engineering sub-function, supports construction operations with estimating, design, geotechnical, and engineering construction services, and manages engineering budgets and costs. It also provides technical support and scheduling assistance and reviews contracts, design considerations, job cost projects, and constructability. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience leading engineering operations within construction.
• Proficiency with all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• Proficiency with computer programs related to engineering management.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and comply with safety standards and procedures.
• Ability to perform the stated physical tasks, including frequent reaching and handling objects, occasional stooping, kneeling, or bending, occasional climbing, and occasionally lifting, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 pounds.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Engineering knowledge in a managerial capacity.

Responsibilities

• Create functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function, and develop budgets, policies, and procedures to support its infrastructure.
• Develop estimating, design, geotechnical, and engineering construction services for construction operations.
• Establish and implement strategies with a three-to-five-year impact on business results, aligned with Sundt's organizational objectives.
• Incorporate components, materials, and tools that produce cost-effective, quality output.
• Manage the overall engineering budget and costs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Provide technical support and scheduling assistance as needed.
• Review contracts, design considerations, job cost projects, and constructability.
