About The Position

The Engineering Project Manager (EPM) leads system electrical design execution for Apple Watch hardware projects. The role manages the design, manufacturing, and delivery of core electrical components, providing technical management and support throughout engineering development. The EPM leads a cross-functional team of EE, PD, RF, and DFM engineers and works with Contract Manufacturer (CM) partners to keep project goals, risks, and priorities visible. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day activities, planning design cycles around component kickoff dates and downstream build demands, and facilitating reviews across system, module, and supporting engineering teams. The EPM resolves design feedback, maintains detailed schedules and configuration plans across CMs and designs, monitors build progress, and leads issue deep dives to close critical issues ahead of ramp timelines. The role also oversees variable down-selections and qualification progress across builds, and manages early local development builds, including allocation strategies, long-lead components, and hand-assembly of early modules. International travel may be required to support builds.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 2–4+ years of industry experience.
  • Strong technical background in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering.
  • 2–4+ years of project management experience, including experience working with CM partners.
  • Experience with PCB layout and/or understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to filter and distill relevant information for the appropriate audience.
  • Disciplined workflow and process, with the ability to stay organized on priority tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to help resolve cross-functional conflicts.
  • Ability to adapt to rapid development cycles and constant change, remaining flexible and calm amid uncertainty.
  • Ability to travel internationally to support builds.
