About The Position

Ford is leading the Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) transformation, and the Systems and Core Architecture (SCA) team is responsible for defining and delivering the foundational software and systems architecture for current and future vehicle platforms. As an Engineering Project Manager (EPM) on the SCA team, you will bridge strategy and execution across critical technical domains within the vehicle. This involves leading complex, cross-functional delivery for hardware and software systems, guiding teams from architecture and system design through execution, validation, launch, OTA evolution, and lifecycle support. Initially, the role will focus on diagnostics and in-vehicle networking, with opportunities to expand into broader systems and core architecture domains. Your contributions will directly impact the execution and quality of programs built on Ford’s FNV3.x architecture and help shape future vehicle architectures for the SDV journey. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, validation, platform, strategy, and supplier teams to align technical plans, manage dependencies, resolve risks, and ensure high-quality execution. The role requires the ability to navigate system-level technical discussions, program planning, and leadership communication effectively. Key foundational vehicle architecture areas supported include in-vehicle networking (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, interfaces, communication layers, software stacks), diagnostics (diagnostic data, DTCs, parsed data, prognostics, vehicle diagnostic capabilities), power controls and management, cross-domain and vertical feature delivery requiring strong systems and architecture coordination, and current/next-generation vehicle architectures for both near-term delivery and long-term platform evolution. This individual contributor role has significant cross-functional influence and leadership responsibility, operating across both hardware and software systems with a strong systems-responsible mindset, connecting strategy, architecture, execution, validation, and lifecycle support throughout the vehicle's life.

Responsibilities

  • Connect strategy to execution across some of the most critical technical domains in the vehicle
  • Lead complex, cross-functional delivery across hardware and software systems
  • Help teams move from architecture and system design through execution, validation, launch, OTA evolution, and lifecycle support
  • Initially focus on diagnostics and in-vehicle networking
  • Create opportunities to expand across broader systems and core architecture domains over time
  • Directly influence the execution and quality of upcoming programs built on Ford’s FNV3.x architecture
  • Help shape the next generation of vehicle architectures as Ford continues its SDV journey
  • Partner closely with engineering, product, validation, platform, strategy, and supplier teams to align technical plans
  • Manage dependencies
  • Resolve risks
  • Drive high-quality execution
  • Move fluidly between system-level technical discussions, program planning, and concise leadership communication
  • Help connect strategy, architecture, execution, validation, and lifecycle support across the full life of the vehicle
  • Work closely with Tech Platform teams to align to platform cadence and manage program dependencies
  • Work closely with Tech Strategy teams to connect execution to longer-term architectural direction
  • Work closely with Engineering and validation teams to drive technical delivery from design through release
  • Work closely with Supplier partners to extend execution capacity and support delivery across key technical domains
