About The Position

Apple is seeking a manager to lead a high-performing team of project managers supporting the full development lifecycle across Software Engineering, Product Management, QA, Design, and Marketing. The manager will foster innovation, collaboration, and operational effectiveness, and help deliver high-quality software solutions for Intelligent System Experiences.

The role leads, coaches, inspires, and develops Engineering Project Managers responsible for complex projects across Apple platforms. It serves as a central coordination point for Software, Hardware, Design, and other teams, helping deliver features across Apple operating systems while meeting deadlines and quality expectations.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering project or program management, with comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle from inception to launch.
• 3+ years of direct people management experience, including hiring, career development, performance management, and leading high-performing teams of project managers.
• Demonstrated history of successfully launching customer-facing software products, with a focus on operational rigor and continuous improvement.
• Extensive expertise managing processes across the software development lifecycle, with a focus on metrics and efficiency.
• Demonstrated ability in complex problem-solving, cross-functional consultation, and organizational planning.
• Experience delivering written and verbal communications, status updates, and presentations to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Ability to create clear, concise, well-structured written documentation, such as project plans, reports, and presentations.
• Ability to communicate effectively in team meetings, stakeholder presentations, and discussions.
• Ability to adapt communication style for technical teams, senior management, and external partners.
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic, with creative and critical-thinking capabilities.
• Strong leadership skills, including the ability to build trusting relationships and influence others.
• Deeply curious mindset about new ideas.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, inspire, and develop a team of Engineering Project Managers.
• Support the full development lifecycle across Software Engineering, Product Management, QA, Design, and Marketing.
• Drive complex projects across Apple platforms and deliver customer-facing software features on schedule and at high quality.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, including Software, Hardware, and Design.
• Foster innovation, collaboration, and operational effectiveness.
• Manage and improve software development lifecycle processes using metrics and efficiency measures.
• Hire, develop careers, and manage performance for project managers.
• Design, define, and scale operational processes.
• Communicate project status and present information to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
