About The Position

The Model Operations team partners with the AIML team and feature teams across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, visionOS, and services. In this role, the Engineering Program Manager collaborates with Apple feature teams to deliver Apple Intelligence-powered features across Apple products. The position involves bringing clarity to multiple stakeholders, translating requirements into plans, and helping teams navigate fast-moving technical infrastructure. It also drives new processes and improves existing ones to support bringup of new models across on-device and server infrastructure and adoption of new model versions.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience as a technical software Project or Program Manager; ideally supporting ML/AI or model-focused teams.
• Experience leading and shipping complex, cross-functional technical projects and quickly learning new technologies.
• Hands-on experience with software development practices and/or the machine learning model lifecycle, including training, evaluation, and deployment.
• Strong technical understanding of on-device and server model infrastructure and how models integrate into product features.
• Experience working with large language models, foundation models, or other generative AI systems.
• Familiarity with on-device and server-side deployment constraints for ML models, including memory, latency, and compute.

• Excellent spoken and written communication, with the ability to adapt communication style for research engineers, infrastructure teams, and feature team leads.
• A proven track record of defining processes and executing them in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
• Self-motivation, enthusiasm, and demonstrated creative and critical thinking.
• Curiosity about how models work and are incorporated into product features, and a passion for connecting technical capability to user impact.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organization, including the ability to track concurrent workstreams across multiple teams.
• Ability to build relationships and influence others without direct authority.
• Comfort engaging with technical concepts related to machine learning models, model infrastructure, and APIs.
