About The Position

The Engineering Manager oversees the Engineering Department within the Facilities Department, ensuring all building systems, equipment, and infrastructure are properly maintained and operating efficiently. This position is responsible for supervising all engineering staff, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensuring compliance with all safety, regulatory, and organizational standards. The Engineering Manager serves as the primary point of contact for technical issues, vendor coordination, and departmental training. Responsibilities are performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. Reports to Director of Facilities.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of building systems including mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and life safety systems.
  • Experience leading skilled maintenance staff in a commercial, hospitality, or gaming environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical diagrams.
  • Knowledge of building codes, OSHA safety standards, and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management ability in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using CMMS platforms to assign, review, and follow up on departmental work.
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications or vocational training preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of facilities maintenance or engineering experience, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory or management role required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-trade teams in a commercial, hospitality, or gaming environment.
  • Broad knowledge of building systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life safety sufficient to oversee staff and contractors.
  • Valid California driver's license and insurability required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission, which includes passing a background investigation.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting North Fork Mono Casino's culture and always demonstrating exemplary Service Standards.
  • Provide daily leadership and oversight to engineering staff across all shifts, ensuring 24/7 departmental coverage and quality control.
  • Assign and monitor work orders through the CMMS system; follow up on execution and ensure timely completion.
  • Conduct routine inspections to verify workmanship, safety compliance, and equipment condition.
  • Oversee repair and preventive maintenance activities, ensuring proper execution by engineering staff and vendors.
  • Coordinate vendor access, contracted services, and scheduled maintenance with other departments.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate team members; assist in onboarding and skills development.
  • Maintain department readiness by ensuring tools, carts, and supplies are stocked and organized.
  • Communicate effectively with the Facilities Coordinator to ensure work order accuracy, documentation, and reporting.
  • Respond to critical building systems alarms and direct staff during emergency procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Facilities on capital planning, shift scheduling, and department strategy.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
