We are looking for someone to join the engineering team as the first engineering manager for a group of highly skilled engineers working across our product teams.

Requirements

  • Experience managing engineers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-off role whilst being able to converse with engineers from experience (having previously worked in an engineering role).
  • Proven ability in building a strong engineering culture with a focus on employee morale and motivation, talent development and management of performance.
  • Caring deeply about building a collaborative and empathetic environment that puts the team’s happiness first.
  • Excited to play a key part in shaping the engineering culture of a growing team.
  • Understanding of high performing teams and working towards achieving this.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and adapt to the needs of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and developing the engineers, helping them grow their skills and advance in their careers.
  • Conducting regular catch-ups, running 360 performance reviews, and having development conversations with reports (tailored to each engineer).
  • Helping engineers set personal development objectives and supporting their growth.
  • Providing updates and highlighting any performance issues to the VP of Engineering.
  • Getting involved with hiring and providing a great onboarding experience.
  • Ensuring the well-being of the team.
