Engineering Manager, Treasury

Givebutter
•$195,000 - $215,000•Remote

About The Position

Givebutter is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead its Treasury pod and deliver financial infrastructure for nonprofit users. The role combines engineering leadership with hands-on technical work: shipping and reviewing code, making architecture decisions, staying close to production systems, monitoring and responding to incidents, pairing with engineers, and prototyping through ambiguity. The manager will report to the VP of Engineering and carry out the product vision while developing a scalable engineering culture. They will help the team deliver excellent user experiences on time without compromising security, design, or performance, remove roadblocks, establish effective processes, and bring expertise in fintech and financial systems. The Treasury pod supports Givebutter’s financial products, including Wallet features, payment tools, and financial dashboards. The position is remote from one of Givebutter’s 10 hubs: Austin, Denver, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Salt Lake City, Minneapolis, Seattle, or Nashville.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of full-stack development experience with modern web technologies such as React, JavaScript, TypeScript, or PHP/Laravel.

  • At least 2 years of experience managing a team of 5 or more engineers.
  • Strong understanding of financial compliance, security requirements, and data integrity in regulated environments.
  • Proven experience in people management, mentorship, and clear communication.
  • Demonstrated success hiring and developing remote engineering teams.
  • Execution mindset and strong bias toward delivering and iterating.
  • Product-oriented approach and keen eye for consistency and user impact.
