About The Position

Babel Street is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead their Secure Access team. This role involves managing a team responsible for the Secure Access application throughout its lifecycle, including integration with on-premises and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with engineering leadership experience, capable of working across infrastructure and application development. This position requires balancing the reliability needs of existing customers with the delivery of new features. The platform operates primarily on-premise, with one component in the cloud.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• At least three years of direct engineering management experience
• At least five years of hands-on experience in platform, infrastructure, or software engineering
• Experience managing virtualized on-premises infrastructure, particularly VMware vSphere/ESXi
• Experience with VDI or remote-access infrastructure
• Experience deploying and operating workloads on a major cloud platform, preferably GCP
• Working knowledge of Linux administration, containers, and CI/CD pipelines
• Ability to break down a product vision into workable engineering tasks
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to nontechnical stakeholders

Nice To Haves

• Experience with networking technologies, including VLANs, routing, firewalls, VPNs, load balancing, and DNS
• Experience extending or migrating on-premises workloads to GCP
• Experience with automation tools, such as Terraform and Ansible
• Experience working in regulated or security-sensitive environments, including FedRAMP, CMMC, or SOC 2
• Knowledge of identity and access management protocols, including SSO, OIDC, and SAML

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Software and Platform Engineers responsible for the Secure Access application throughout its lifecycle.
• Manage the integration of the Secure Access application with on-premises and cloud environments.
• Set the technical direction for the Secure Access team.
• Manage priorities and delivery for the Secure Access team.
• Mentor engineers across software and platform disciplines.
