About The Position

SharkNinja is seeking an Engineering Manager, NPD for their Coffee & Beverage category. This role serves as the US engineering lead for the category, focusing on subsystems that directly impact consumer KPIs and user experience. The manager will lead a small US-based team, drive subsystem performance, and represent the engineering team in executive reviews. The role requires a strong understanding of thermal, fluidic, and electromechanical systems, with the ability to work effectively in both technical and executive settings. The expected split is approximately 70% for program delivery and people leadership, and 30% for category representation.

Requirements

Degree-level technical qualification, ideally in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or Industrial Design Engineering.
6+ years of proven experience in Mechanical / Product Design / Industrial Design environments, including at least one full concept-to-production cycle.
2+ years of people management experience, with demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and hold accountability for a team of engineers.
Experience interfacing and presenting updates to senior or executive leadership (technical and non-technical).
Demonstrated ability to translate consumer KPIs and qualitative product requirements into concrete, measurable design parameters and test protocols, including DOE planning and interpretation.
Experience in plastic manufacturing processes and high-volume consumer goods environments.
Proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo to a high level, with demonstrable experience leading CAD reviews.
Clear communication of technical concepts to non-technical and executive audiences (written, presentations, live Q&A).
Experience working effectively in distributed, multi-site engineering environments (US, UK, China, or similar).
Flexible, collaborative, and positive attitude.
Proactive problem-solving mindset.
Comfort working semi-autonomously under ambiguity.

Nice To Haves

Experience in consumer household appliances, particularly coffee, espresso, or hot-beverage products.
Familiarity with beverage appliance components: pumps, thermoblocks/boilers, solenoid valves, flow meters, grinders, pressure regulation, and safety devices.
Appreciation for electrical engineering, software, and UX design.
Experience presenting to executive stakeholders and synthesizing technical content across multiple programs.

Responsibilities

Lead a US-based team of two engineers, setting technical direction, reviewing work, managing prioritization, and providing feedback and coaching.
Take ownership of KPI-critical subsystem designs from conception through prototyping and verification.
Drive subsystem performance against category KPIs using quantitative test and DOE methods.
Continuously evaluate and improve designs for cost efficiency, manufacturing improvements, increased quality, and consumer value.
Build and test prototypes to de-risk concepts, validate assumptions, and drive design decisions.
Represent the global team's work in program reviews and ensure timely and quality deliverables.
Collaborate with UK-based program engineering teams and US-based Product Management, Industrial Design, and Technical/Technology teams.
Coordinate with China-based manufacturing and engineering partners for design-for-manufacture and production scale-up.
Serve as the technical voice of the US Coffee & Beverage engineering team in executive reviews, portfolio planning, and cross-category forums.
Synthesize technical status, risk, and learning across multiple programs for executive audiences.
Lead post-mortem and lessons-learned activities, identifying systemic issues and driving improvements.
Contribute to category-level technology roadmaps and long-range capability planning.
