About The Position

WHY NOTIFICATIONS? With Roblox’s daily active users growing at a record pace, we are seeking an Engineering Manager who thrives on solving complex challenges and designing scalable, ground breaking solutions. In this role, you will lead that team that owns the backend, relevance and client systems that power Notifications across the Roblox ecosystem. These systems are responsible for the delivery of hundreds of millions of notifications triggered by users, devs and the platform across various surface areas such as push notifications, email, toast, stream, and more.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as an engineering manager or tech lead manager.
• Excellence in collaborating with others, and in developing software engineers.
• You have demonstrated outcomes of facilitating team success.
• A proven track record of technical delivery in high-scale environments with complex constraints
• Ability to contribute to architecture and implementation discussions around high-scale ML systems
• Experience solving difficult problems involving both engineering and non-engineering stakeholders
• Resourceful: You're able to navigate tough constraints to find the best solution. You stay laser-focused on the end goal and are adaptable, creative, and strategic to achieve it.
• Solution Oriented: You start with the problem to be solved, and stay laser-focused on getting it solved. You can tackle anything that comes your way, whether it’s a technical problem, a business problem, or a people problem.

Responsibilities

• Shape and grow a high-performing engineering team.
• Support engineers, ranging from junior to principal, in their development.
• Foster a team culture of collaboration, innovation, and engineering excellence; while getting things done.
• Take responsibility for high-scale systems to deliver Notifications to users on Roblox.
• Operate creatively to serve the needs of the community and Roblox.
• Own the team’s mission and outcomes.
• Work with stakeholders to define the team’s roadmap, and ensure execution.
• Partner with PM, Design, Data, and stakeholders across Roblox, to develop innovative solutions.
