About The Position

This role involves leading in a specific discipline, technology, or process while keeping cost, schedule, and performance objectives in mind. The Engineering Manager I will assist with portfolio planning and long-term strategy. Key responsibilities include management activities such as attracting, hiring, supervising, and developing individual contributors to meet group goals. The position also requires participation in external meetings and presentations at large internal meetings and forums. A core aspect of the role is to model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles, embodying a philosophy of "Understand. Create. Simplify." Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

B.S. in Engineering field or equivalent combination of education/experience
8+ years of related engineering or management experience
Strong technical knowledge in one or more engineering disciplines/technologies
Demonstrated ability to design/produce/support successful products/processes
Ability to manage product line/process problems requiring creativity, ingenuity, and guidance from manager
Strong desire to develop employees and lead projects
Ability to define general approaches and specific solutions to technical problems
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Background check results satisfactory to SEL
Negative drug test result(s)
