About The Position

As an Engineering Manager on Rent the Runway's Subscriber Retention team, you will play a key role in shaping how users discover, engage with, and fall in love with the platform. You will lead a team dedicated to creating delightful, seamless, and personalized experiences that help members feel confident and supported. The team is redefining the relationship people have with fashion by making access more sustainable and more fun, building systems that deliver magic to members who return multiple times a week.

Requirements

  • Hands-on technical leadership and/or people management experience.
  • Experience delivering impactful consumer products.
  • Passion for designing systems and experiences that are resilient, scalable, and user-centered.
  • Experience working with agile teams and prioritizing in fast-moving environments.
  • Enjoy mentoring and creating opportunities for others to grow.
  • Strong command of best practices, design patterns, and system architecture tradeoffs.
  • Clear, thoughtful communicator who values empathy and collaboration.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in e-commerce/fashion or B2C subscriptions at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and grow a high performing, collaborative team of software engineers (front-end, back-end, full-stack, and mobile).
  • Lead technical planning and project delivery and champion engineering practices for high-impact consumer-facing initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to prioritize and deliver work that supports both customer needs and business goals.
  • Foster a culture of psychological safety, learning, and continuous feedback.
  • Support the career development and wellbeing of your team members.
  • Partner with peers and senior leadership to shape long-term strategy and engineering excellence.
