About the Team You will be joining a team focused on leveraging AI to automate document ingestion and data extraction, eliminating manual entry and accelerating the qualification process to deliver faster, more reliable HME order turnarounds and a seamless patient experience. About the Role We are seeking an engineering manager to grow our engineers and our engineering practice. We believe in practicing managers, who want to contribute to the code as well as grow engineers. This role will be responsible for coaching up to 5 engineers in growing their career and contributing code and coding practice to a team.
Requirements
- Professional programming experience with open source languages
- Minimum of 5 years of experience delivering software in a production environment
- Minimum of 2 years of management experience
- Must reside in the U.S.

Nice To Haves
- Professional experience with Ruby on Rails
- Professional experience with React or TypeScript
- Experience with automated evaluation and testing of LLM powered workflows
- Experience with LangSmith or similar tools for observability and evaluation
- Familiarity with prompt engineering and prompt lifecycle management
- Familiarity with LangGraph, AutoGen, or other agent orchestration frameworks
- Skill with AI powered coding tools (eg. Cursor)
- Experience working cross-functionally to improve business process
- Experience as technical lead on projects working with UX/UI design and/or product management.
Responsibilities
- Manage up to 5 engineers, prioritizing their career growth, technical development, and day-to-day support.
- Take accountability for your team's goals and roadmap execution. Proactively identify and remove blockers to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Review Architecture Decision Documents (ADDs), conduct pre-launch risk assessments, and ensure systems align with company goals.
- Lead early technical discovery, feasibility analysis, and capacity estimation for future projects.
- Stay close to the code through regular PR reviews, design discussions, and incident retrospectives
- Allocate 10-20% of your time to technical work, prioritizing pairing and targeted tickets over daily feature development.
- Guide engineering practices across teams using agile methods, TDD, and robust software design principles.
- Act as the primary representative and point of contact for your team, ensuring clear communication with Product, Design, leadership, and cross-functional partners.
